| Day 2: Arrive to Casablanca |
|
|
Meet and greet at the Casablanca airport, then begin Morocco in Depth tour with a walk around the Hassan II mosque, which boasts one of the tallest minarets in the world. Continue to the Ain Diab Corniche for a relaxing stroll along the coast. Go on to the Habous Quarter, the oldest part of Casablanca, which houses the Royal Palace, before continuing along to the Mohammed V Square in the city center. Overnight in Casablanca.

| Day 3: Casablanca, Rabat |
|
|
Transfer along the coastline to the capital of Morocco, Rabat. Begin tour with a short walk around the Royal Palace. Continue to the Mohammed V Mausoleum followed by the Hassan II Tower, one of the oldest mosques left in existence. Overnight in Rabat.

| Day 4: Rabat, Meknes, Fes |
|
|
Continue city tour of Rabat with a visit to the Kasbah of the Udayas, Rabat’s medina. Continue to the Mohammed V Mausoleum, then transfer to Meknes, stopping to take pictures of the massive Bab El Mansour gate. The city tour of Meknes will include the Harri Souani stables, the medina, and the Royal Palace. Continue along to Moulay Idriss. Here you will have some free time before moving on to the UNESCO-sponsored Roman ruins in Volubilis. Transfer to Fes for overnight.

| Day 5: Fes, City Tour |
|
|
Take a full day city tour of Fes with a local guide, which will include Jamaa Al-Karaouine––the world’s first established university––and the Medersa Bouanania, not to mention the tanneries, clay workshops, artisan quarters, and souks of largest and oldest medina in Morocco. Overnight in Fes.

| Day 6: Fes, Midelt, Erfoud, Merzouga |
|
|
Transfer to Midelt, passing through the Amazigh towns of Ifrane and Azrou. After lunch, continue trip along the marvelous Ziz River to Merzouga, stopping along Rissani and Erfoud. Overnight in Merzouga.

| Day 7: Merzouga, Rissani, Tinghir |
|
|
Continue Morocco in Depth tour with an optional sunrise camel ride along the golden sand dunes. After breakfast, transfer to Tinghir via Rissani and Tinjdad. After visiting the earthen neighborhoods and palms groves in Tinghir, make your way over to the Todra Gorge, a 300m wall carved deep into the High Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight in Tinghir.

Continue tour of Tinghir by visiting the Dades Valley before moving on to Kelaat M’Gouna, a large village that is famous for cultivating roses, so expect to find many fine, rose-infused products. Next, transfer to Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight.

| Day 9: Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou, Taroudant |
|

Take a tour of Ouarzazate, beginning with the Taourirt and Tifoultout Kasbahs, which are considered some of the most beautiful in the country. Next, visit the film studios, where some of the most famous desert landscapes were and are still being shot. Continue on to the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou, the iconic landscape immortalized in such films as, Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Then, transfer to Taroudant via Taznakht and Taliouine. Overnight in Taroudant.

Cross the city’s characteristic ramparts to begin touring the souks where some of Morocco’s most talented craftsmen tend their art. Transfer to Essaouira along the Atlantic coast, passing through Agadir and Taghazoute. Overnight in Essaouira.

This relatively small, easily navigable city is ideal for a free day. But be sure to ask your guide for some city highlights—there are many. Essaouira has got a distinct multicultural feel, resulting from the large Portuguese,French, and Jewish populations that once called it home. Its mild climate and expansive stretches of ocean sand also place it among Morocco’s top beach towns. Don’t leave without visiting the local artisans, who are known around the world for their marquetry furniture. Overnight in Essaouira.
